The Comic Book may well be a splendid publication bringing together over fifty contemporary visual artists and writers to create new work based on generic comic strip and cartoon format.
But the book is just the beginning. Its a thematic starting point for a series of live events in Wales, Scotland and England. These events both launch the book and give us all hours of super-fabulous artistically comic entertainment!
North Wales premiers the series, with a Comic Book jamboree at the Royal International Pavilion, Llangollen, taking the form of a mock literature festival and including commissioned performances, readings, lectures and screenings - and involving live-art, film, music, dance, visual art, literature and comedy.
Plus! Wales’ first ever art exhibition launched in Second Life - and you’re invited!
Although Wales is the official premiere, the second event actually happens first! with an extended launch in Scotland as part of Edinburgh Fringe.
The project finishes with another launch in England, at the ICA in London.
